Cooking Process:
Preparation: Clean and wash the fish thoroughly. You can score the fish to allow spices to penetrate better.
Marination: Mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice in a bowl. Rub the marinade evenly over the fish and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Cooking: Heat mustard oil in a deep pan, and fry onions until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, and spices like cumin powder, coriander powder, and a little garam masala. Cook until the oil separates from the masala, then add the marinated fish.
Simmering: Pour in some water and let the fish cook on low to medium heat for 20-25 minutes until tender and fully cooked.
Serving: Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with steamed rice or a flavorful pulao.
